Olympus Mons is one of the pioneering companies leading our civilisation on a journey to Mars. In 2020, Olympus Mons took part in forging the Mars Union, collaborating with other Space Agencies to ensure peaceful, long term communities on the Red Planet. The Mars expeditions of our time are historic operations – journeys that are made possible only with laborious efforts of science and exploration, with research that has taken place on Earth as well as in Space.
In August 2021 we will have our first launch opportunity and hope to embark on a new journey for all of humankind. In its first mission to Mars, Olympus Mons will send Astronaut Artists. We aspire our Astronaut Artists to foster creativity, and contribute creatively and constructively to the already existing communities on Mars.

In a society, the artist can play many roles. Artists are known to pass on traditions and create new ones. Creative thinkers and makers can provide their communities with joy, interaction and inspiration. They may also manifest critique to our political, economic and social systems, pushing communities to engage thoughtfully and make steps toward social progress. Every artist plays a different and necessary part in contributing to the overall health, development and well-being of our societies.
The Para//e/s Mars Journey is the collaboration of multitudes of innovative minds. It spans individuals as well as international teams working in academia, arts, science and technology. The Astronaut Artists will work as members of the communities on Mars, as pioneers of storytelling, social change, and expressing universal emotion.
Upon landing in the Tharsis Region on Mars, the Orca ship can be used as a liveable habitat for a prolonged period of time until the more definite housing is set up within the caves. Here, sheltered from the cosmic rays, but illuminated by the sun through large skylights, is where the Astronaut Artists will meet the researchers on ground.
Olympus Mons is moved forward by the challenges that remain – knowing they will only push us further into innovation we can’t even imagine now. We invite you, the public, to follow our learnings on Earth, in Space and on Mars. Come join us on the Para//e/s Journey
